Hodad's (the name means ‘surf poser’ in ‘60s surfer slang). has been serving huge and tasty burgers in Ocean Beach since 1969, and it's gained some notoriety along the way. CNN, Serious Eats, Guy Fieri, NBC and more have all salivated over Hodad's massive burgers and the locals swear the bacon cheeseburger is perfection. Hodad's is 100 percent surfer attitude with legendary food—including the onion rings and chocolate malts. Expect to wait in line for a spot in the small license-plate-adorned dining room.
