Nomikai, downtown San Jose’s newest eatery, is serving up American classics with an Asian twist. Dishes like the garlic bread with Japanese eggplant spread or the roasted duck with hoisin and scallions reflect the menu’s strong influence in Asian flavors. With a central concept of “social food,” guests can expect small plates meant to be shared. Cocktails with Japanese whiskeys are new to the menu, but the classic sake is still there.
