Jongno is in the heart of some of Seoul’s greatest landmarks and tourism sites, such as the city’s palaces (Gyeongbok Palace and Gwanghwamoon) and the Chungyecheong, which is an artificial river that runs through metropolitan Seoul that makes for lovely walking and touring at night when much of this area lights up. There are ample restaurants and bars for the choosing, and the National Museum of Korea and Sejong Performing Arts Center are nearby. Don’t miss the chance to stroll past the “Blue House,” the presidential mansion, to see it in all its luminous glory.
