Where Sinchon and Edae intersect, the confluence draws the most happening crowd from four of Korea’s main universities: Yonsei University, Ewha Women’s University, Sogang University and Hongik University. As a result, this is the epicenter of Seoul’s college-aged clan. That makes the bars, restaurants and other amenities in this area extremely cost-efficient. Since many international students come to Seoul to study, this area has become diverse, drawing Indian, Japanese and Chinese restaurants to the streets, as well as microbreweries and bars/pubs that celebrate indie culture. Shiva Pub is a standout, and Gamaksae follows close on its heels in popularity.
