A 12-minute ferry ride from central Sydney, Taronga Zoo features 2,900 exotic and native species from the Australian lungfish to a snake-necked turtle. Check out the reptiles, koala bears, giraffes and seals. But to really get your fill of critters, the “Roar & Snore” program allows visitors to camp out overnight in safari tents amid the drop-dead-gorgeous harbor views. Wouldn’t it be wild to awaken to lions roaring?
