For a quiet respite, head to Turkey Creek Park and walk the boardwalk that meanders through the woods and follows the creek. Along the quarter of a mile boardwalk, discover local vegetation, ducks, turtles and other native inhabitants. The creek is open to canoes, kayaks, tubes and swimmers, so escape the heat and take a dip without the noise and disturbance of gasoline-powered boats. The park also features picnic areas, a pavilion, grills and fishing platforms.
