Your in-house glamour go-getter has a dirty little secret: I really hate shopping—shopping that entails leaving the house. Of course, that doesn’t mean I don’t the savor the flavor of the finer things, but, really, isn’t it so much nicer to stay at home, pour yourself a glass of wine, draw a bath, crank up the Olivia Newton-John and then jump online to peruse the latest and greatest finds? (That was rhetorical, so don’t even think of questioning our right-on reasoning.)
Here are a few of my current far-flung obsessions, all available with a few clicks of that keyboard:
I am mad for British designer Matthew Williamson and his hyper-hued creations. My most favorite Williamson work of wonder is the Peacock Dark rug from his collection for The Rug Company. OK, so this Tibetan wool and silk rug is a whopping $7,560, but a boy can dream (and start saving his pennies). Bring the look home: Lift a few colors from Williamson’s feather-iffic fantasy, paint your foyer a shocking pink or punchy purple and voilà, instant drama.
Someday I might have saved enough pennies to relax upon British designer Matthew Williamson’s Dark Peacock rug from The Rug Company.
Speaking of Matthew Williamson, I spotted him and several of his friends last week at the decidedly chic Amanyara Resort in the Turks and Caicos. He and his posse wore all sorts of interesting turban-like creations upon their heads. Are turbans the new must-have accessory of the season?

Far more accessible—and affordable—are the perfectly posh men’s pants sold over the internet by Manhattan-based clothier Bonobos. Gentlemen, take note! If your khakis are a little droopy at the knees and your twills are totally threadbare, it’s time to visit this temple of terrific cuts and classic styles. The process couldn’t be easier, the prices are terrific and the service is spot-on (The company calls its service pros Ninjas, so you know that they are good!).
Tip, top, terrific trousers from the folks at Bonobos.
OK, enjoy the week. This jet setter is off to the Hamptons AND checking out the brand-new Topshop in SoHo.
