Fellow globetrotters, take note: I favor wit over wealth and glamour over glory, so get ready for a ride that mixes two parts whimsy with a dash of drama. This installment it’s all about color, since who wants to lead a life that’s beige and banal. Here’s a list of my current obsessions:
London’s Globe-Trotter crafts the most amazing suitcases, just ask Queen Elizabeth who only travels with her stash of G-Ts. Expensive, but these jaunty jobbies will last you a lifetime. And they are now available at J. Crew, so you can grab these trunks stateside. I have such an orange crush!
And then there are the amazing, limited-edition Nebb LE eyeglasses from the folks at Manhattan’s Moscot Eyewear and Eyecare in kicked-up colors such as Orchid and Golden Olive—a steal at $220.
And I am simply obsessed with The Greenbrier resort—tucked away in the mountains of West Virginia—with its public spaces that were designed by the legendary interiors whiz Dorothy Draper. Just look at the color palette in The Greenbrier’s lobby, shocking-pick chic!
And we are planning our summer calendar, so a visit to the beachside Hamptons in New York is a must. Check out The Maidstone Arms in East Hampton that is being rehabbed tip-to-toe by Scandinavian hotels group c/o Hotels. When the color-crazy inn opens for the season, it’s going to shake up the somewhat staid Hamptons hotel scene, so reserve a jazzed-up room and pronto!
