Ranked by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the best music venues in the U.S., the Orange Peel building has an interesting history: From 1950 to 1962 the building housed Skateland Rollerdome and eventually became an R&B and soul club and then an auto parts warehouse before remerging as a showcase for new musical talent and legendary performers. A recent renovation expanded its capacity to 1,100 and added PULP, a retro-inspired private club awash in local art.
