Once a small 10-stool diner, Louie’s Café is Baton Rouge’s oldest continually operating restaurant, welcoming diners since 1941. Today, Louie’s has grown to 60 seats, and regulars love the local twist on traditional breakfast fare, such as the seafood Louie omelet, which features crawfish and shrimp with an herbed crème sauce. While all dishes are served all day, make sure you get there early (between 6 and 11 a.m.) for the buttermilk biscuits, certainly the best in Baton Rouge.
