If you are craving an authentic Philly cheese steak experience, this diner, which is covered in hand-painted murals depicting the City of Brotherly Love, does it right, from the freshly sliced rib eye to the imported Amoroso’s bakery rolls. Every sandwich is cooked to order, and the fries are hand-punched. Along with the traditional cheese steak, South of Philly has its own unique creations, such as the surf and turf, freshly sliced rib eye served with cheese and topped with shrimp, and the tiger steak, sliced rib eye served with jalapeños and blackened bayou beer sauce.
