Peregrine Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to saving birds of prey from extinction, established the 580-acre center in 1984. Explore the amazing world of raptors eye to eye. The indoor bird exhibit is home to birds such as the Harpy eagle from South America, turkey vulture and Aplomado falcon. The Condor Cliffs exhibit gets you up-close with the California condor in a natural outdoor setting. It’s the only place in North America, other than California, where you can see the huge birds with their 9.5-foot wingspans on display. The Velma Morrison Interpretive Center draws about 30,000 visitors each year and hosts shows, demonstrations and interactive displays with hawks, falcons, eagles and owls.
