Some of the best Buffalo chicken wings can be found in Buffalo, naturally. And any visit to the area isn’t complete without a stop at Anchor Bar where the famous wings began. Invented in 1964 by restaurant founder and matriarch Teressa Ballisamo, the original recipe hasn’t changed since then (thankfully). Order a plate of the Spicy originals—large and crispy, yet still juicy—topped with Frank’s Red Hot and served with a creamy homemade blue cheese dip and fresh, crisp celery. Wash it all down with a pitcher of Labatt’s Blue, and you’ll never look at another chicken wing the same way again.
