From the annual Earth Day celebration to October’s “Boo at the Zoo,” the North Carolina Zoo features a host of activities and exhibits that entertain and educate the whole family. With more than 1,100 animals and 40,000 plants along five miles of shaded pathways, the Zoo stresses conservation and diversity. It even features a backstage pass option that allows visitors to talk to the zookeepers or even take a private zoo tour before opening hours.
