On most Thursday and Friday nights, the Cincinnati Observatory opens its doors to the public. Local astronomers give a 30- to 40-minute presentation then guide a stargaze through the oldest telescope in the United States. The 11-inch wood and brass refractor dates back to 1842. On clear nights, observe the moon, planets, double stars, nebulas and the occasional comet.
