Transportation 101

Dublin Airport, Ireland’s busiest airport, is located about six miles north of the city center—a €25 cab ride (approx. $32). Although the city center is relatively compact and easily traversed by foot compared with other major European cities, public transit options include a multitude of bus lines as well as the Dublin Suburban Rail and the Luas (the Irish word for “speed”) light rail. For a more scenic view, rent a Dublinbikes self-service bicycle at one of 44 terminals around the city.
