In 1780, John Jameson founded the Jameson Irish Whiskey Company at the Bow Street Distillery in Dublin. Today, a guided tour of the famous distillery and its inner workings features interactive exhibits and samples along the way, encouraging you to look, touch, smell and yes, even taste. Volunteers (over 18) are recruited at certain stops of the tour to become “Certified Irish Whiskey Tasters” and perform a taste test of several different whiskeys and scotch, and receive a drink of their choice for their efforts. At the end of the tour, all visitors of age can choose from several different Jameson drinks to sample, including straight-up and a mix with cranberry juice.
