This state's oldest museum is located in a huge wooden hangar built in 1943. The Arkansas Air and Military Museum’s historical displays show the entire age of aviation from Fayetteville's first days in flight through World War I and World War II to the space shuttle program. In the museum's restoration shop, you can watch master craftsmen bring antique airplanes back to life. You’ll also see an authentic World War I-era Curtiss OX-5, a 1964 Learjet, memorabilia from the Fayetteville's own Skyway Airlines and a City of Fayetteville flag which was flown aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery. With a constantly changing list of exhibits, aircraft and events, you’ll find something different every time you visit.
