Peer into the lives of America’s most famous inventors while visiting one of Fort Myers’ most remarkable treasures: the Edison & Ford Estates. The expansive property is home to Seminole Lodge and The Mangoes, the winter residences of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford, respectively. Meander through the 20 acres of breathtaking botanical gardens while admiring the impressive assortment of tropical flora and the property’s stately banyan tree, one of the largest in the United States. Visitors are also encouraged to explore Edison’s Botanic Research Laboratory and the Edison Ford Museum, which houses artifacts and inventions that once belonged to the renowned innovators. Edison & Ford Estates also celebrates its namesakes’ birthdays every year on February 11 and July 30 with events that are free to the public.
