The Zeil pedestrian shopping area is the city’s main shopping zone. Major department stores such as Kaufhof and Karstadt intermingle with smaller boutiques selling clothes, shoes and accessories. The area begins at Hauptwache and ends at Konstablerwache. On its west side, Zeil becomes Freßgasse, where shoppers recharge amid restaurants, sweet shops, ice cream joints and delis.
