As one of the nation’s largest urban parks, Millennium Park’s 1,500 acres are well utilized, with a six-acre beach, 20 miles of trails (including the .6-mile Hansen Nature Trail that circles Lake Leota) and five spring-fed ponds. Local fishers flock here to catch bass, bluegill and crappie. Cyclists might want to cruise onto the 15-mile paved path ending at John Ball Zoo. Or bike south from Millennium Park to Johnson Park, a popular spot for disc-golfers.
