Located in the Maui Arts & Cultural Center, the premier venue for the cultural arts on the island, Schaefer International Gallery hosts a variety of exhibits featuring local and international artists. Exhibitions have included textile and fabric retrospectives of Hawaiian fashion designers, multimedia shows highlighting the state’s cultural history and the popular Schaefer Portrait Challenge, a juried exhibit of 2- and 3-D work capturing the faces of Hawaii. Free educational gallery tours are available with a reservation. The Maui Arts & Cultural Center also features two theaters and an outdoor amphitheater.
