The Hockaday Museum of Art , which is housed in the one-time Carnegie Library Building, was opened in 1969 to fulfill the need for a community art center. The building has undergone several renovations, but still retains the historic beauty of the library. The museum maintains a permanent art collection and a permanent exhibit of Glacier National Park art and culture as well as rotating exhibits by nationally renowned artists. It is also the only Montana museum with a major focus on the nearby Glacier Park and the art and culture of the Blackfeet Indians. Bring the kids by the Discovery Gallery for some hands-on activities.
