The Bigfork Summer Playhouse was founded in 1960 as a place for University of Montana theater students to perform during the summer. The group started out in a borrowed building and would bring in the stage, risers and seats each summer. Now celebrating its 50th year of live professional theater, the groups has a great facility for full-sized scenes, costume making and a 400 seat theater to perform in.
