Take a historic, narrow-gauge train ride to explore the history of Kauai and plantation agriculture and rural life on the protected Kilohana Plantation. From the vintage, turn-of-the-century station where you buy your tickets, you board restored vintage wooden cars in the“King Kalakaua style” to journey around the 100-acre ranch, where sugar is still grown, now accompanied by coffee, papaya, banana, and other tropical fruit and flowers. A short hike to a picnic area in the gardens and picnic lunch completes a day of history and culture. A luau is also offered, or you can finish your day by dining at renowned restaurant 22 North.
