A Madison classic, Lombardino’s menu got a makeover in 2000, when the current owners took over and shifted the focus to local and slow food. This neighborhood favorite near the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus takes advantage of fresh products from organic farmers. The nostalgia (and kitsch) factor is high, complete with an imported replica of Rome’s Trevi Fountain and mosaic wall tiles imported from Italy in the 1950s, when the restaurant first opened its doors.
