Botín, whose claim to fame is “The World’s Oldest Restaurant,” has been featured in numerous novels, including Benito Pérez Galdós’ 19th-century work Fortunata and Jacinta and Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises. The intricate wood paneling and exposed brick walls give off an old-world feel, and the food is nothing short of perfection. Start with the garlic and egg soup then sup on the roast suckling pig or baby squid cooked in their own ink with a side of white asparagus.
