Transportation 101

Driving can be an adventure in Mexico City; local drivers have a reputation for being a bit reckless, so it’s best to use extreme caution. Luckily the metro system is extremely safe and reliable, and it may be your best ally during a visit to Mexico City. Taxis are available, though drivers do not always know the tourist attractions, hotels or restaurants. If you choose to travel by taxi, carry a map with you and be sure to give the driver a street address, Colonia and cross street as reference.
