If friends urge you to visit the Miami Design District and you poo-poo their advice because you’re not a design devotee, don’t let the name of this nabe fool you: there’s plenty of art, food and fashion to be had here. Marni, En Avance, Y-3 and Tomas Maier have shops in the District, and the newest addition to the fashionista scene is a wildly chic Christian Louboutin boutique. There isn’t a shop among them that doesn’t have some great packable present that will fit perfectly into your suitcase (and we’ll never tell whether it’s really for your friends!).
