Everyone else, it seems, eventually ends up in Milan: composer Giuseppe Verdi moved there at the age of 20 to continue his studies, Gianni Versace at 25 to launch his fashion design career and Leonardo da Vinci spent 17 years in the city producing some of his best works, including The Last Supper and Madonna and Child with St. Anne.
