Some states just know how to mix and mingle, and Minnesota is one of them. The state fair is referred to by locals as the holy ground and a spoil of riches in the people-watching department. A trip down the giant yellow slide on a burlap sack is mandatory to restoring one’s sense of child-like wonder. The crop art and Arts & Crafts building provide great entertainment and an aesthetic assault that you won’t soon forget. If your art tastes run out of the ordinary, you’ll find the airbrushed paintings that dominate the rides on the Midway a particular treat. Wanting to flex your muscles a bit? Then don’t forget to partake of a Scotch Egg because cheese curds are for sissies!
