Brookgreen Gardens is a National Historic Landmark and a stunning tribute to American figurative sculpture. As the first public sculpture garden in America, the facility is rich in artistic history and houses over 1,400 works, hundreds of which are displayed amongst the beautiful landscaping of the gardens. Rotating sculpture exhibits can also be found in the Rainey Sculpture Pavilion Galleries. Admire the 2,000 species of plants as you walk the grounds, and don’t miss the live oaks in Oak Alley, which were planted in the 1700s. In addition to the sculpture garden, you’ll want to explore the Lowcountry History and Wildlife Preserve: Take a guided pontoon excursion deep into the property at an extra cost. And don’t miss the Lowcountry Zoo, where native and domestic plantation animals await your gaze. Admission to the gardens as a whole is valid for seven consecutive days, so come back often throughout your stay in Myrtle Beach.
