Newark

Designated as a Major Arts Organization by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, this gallery and art space showcases changing exhibitions of contemporary visual art in a 3,000-square -foot gallery in downtown Newark, just a few blocks south of Newark Public Library. The center also sponsors educational programs for children and adults and houses a design studio, Aljira Design. The museum has featured exhibits covering such topics as hip-hop culture, African-American printmaking and the urban landscape of New Jersey.
