The oldest nonprofit art gallery in Newark, City Without Walls is as much exhibition space as it is an activist organization that aims to provide a voice to emerging artists while building relationships with city youth. CWOW relies on members to curate their on-site and off-site gallery spaces, which house about eight exhibitions per year. It also runs three educational programs that pair mentor artists with at-risk students, helping them create their own art over the course of the school year.
