Newark

The Newark Museum holds fine collections of American, decorative and contemporary art, as well as art from Asia, Africa, the Americas and the ancient world. Its extensive collection of American art includes works by John Singer Sargent, Mary Cassatt, Edward Hopper and Georgia O'Keeffe, while the museum’s Tibetan galleries are widely held as some of the best in the world. The Newark Museum also has a planetarium (Dreyfuss Planetarium) and the Victoria Hall of Science, which highlights some of the museum's 70,000-specimen Natural Science Collection. Behind the museum is the beautiful Alice Ransom Dreyfuss Memorial Gardens, the site for several community programs and concerts.
