During the 1940s, the intersection of Broad and Market streets was considered one of the busiest in the world. Market Street was home to the famous Bamberger’s Department Store, whose flagship 14-story building still stands and is a base for companies in the telecommunications industry. Today, Market Street continues to draw shoppers with its mix of little delis and mid-range clothing shops such as Sin City, Photo Shirts and Monet Fashions. While not the high-end avenue it once was, Market Street still bustles during the daylight hours.
