Lay of the Land

Omaha is divvied up into several areas, the most prominent of which are: downtown, midtown, North Omaha and South Omaha. Downtown is the central business core and home to two historic districts. Midtown features lots of business, culture and historic sites. North Omaha is where you’ll find some of the oldest neighborhoods in the city. South Omaha, aka ‘the Magic City,’ is another old neighborhood that was home to an extremely diverse array of immigrants.
