The Pensacola Gulf Coast Regional Airport offers about 100 daily flights and is located only five miles from downtown Pensacola (www.flypensacola.com). The Escambia County Area Transit runs regular bus routes throughout the Pensacola Bay area during the week, although some routes do not operate on weekends or holidays, so make sure to check a local bus schedule. During the summer months, hop on the free beach trolley on Santa Rosa Island, or the Beach Jumper route from downtown Pensacola to Pensacola Beach (runs Monday through Saturday). Plus, men and women in uniform always ride free (www.goecat.com). The Pensacola area is best explored with a car, and is easily accessible from I-10, a major east-west thoroughfare, just take the exit for I-110 and head south towards downtown and the beach.
