Pensacola

Pensacola is known as the “cradle of naval aviation,” where all navy, marine and coast guard aviators start their training. Located on the Naval Aviation Station Pensacola, this museum has more than 150 restored aircrafts on display, including a Marine One presidential helicopter, along with 4,000 relics of naval aviation, such as uniforms, flight gear, weaponry and medals. Take a ride in the Top Gun F-14 flight simulator or watch a film in the seven-story IMAX Theater. From March through November on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, watch the famous Blue Angels practice air shows, where this Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron performs aerial stunts at up to 700 miles per hour. Before leaving the museum, stop by the gift shop for U.S. Navy apparel, toys, books and posters.
