There are now three locations of Peg’s, and none of them will disappoint. The original downtown location has the most old-timey feel, but all three are family-owned by the sons and daughters of the original “Peg”—whose name is actually Joanna—and her husband Fred Sr. Artery-clogging favorites such as the ham, steak and eggs plate are one favorite, but the Mexicali and chili cheese omelettes and huevos rancheros are the most popular dishes, and healthy choices such as the “nature bonanza” fruit salad are available, too. All three locations have dog-friendly outdoor seating and are supremely kid-friendly: Kids 10 and under get to choose a toy from the “treasure chest,” a gesture that brings families back week after week.
