Situated inside an old wooden-frame house that was once a house of ill repute, Abeline is more East Village than Upstate New York. The room is tiny and intimate—you’ll need to stand to see the band—but the live music is always excellent and the selection of bottled brews is certain to send beer geeks into a frenzy. There’s also a juke box famous among local music snobs because it offers a much needed and refreshing alternative to the traditional pop-music mix found on most juke boxes.
