To peruse the menu at La Gloria is to take a (delicious) tour of interior Mexico by way of the street foods gleaned from chef Johnny Hernandez’ own extensive travels there. Beyond the classic tacos (served on house made tortillas) and excellent selection of ceviches (don’t miss the ceviche verde with green olives), try the panuchos—Gorditas made with masa and filled with black beans and choice of pork, chicken or avocado for a vegetarian option. Beer, margaritas and big jugs of homemade agua frescas help cool the fire.
