Lay of the Land

Flying into Costa Rica is easy, in that there are no fees to enter or exit the country as there are in other Central American countries. Most flights arrive at Aeropuerto Internacional Juan Santamaría, which is approximately 11 miles northwest of San José, though some still come in to Daniel Oduber Quiros Airport in Liberia, which is 8 miles from San José. Shuttle and taxi services are readily available at both locales.
