Along with its numerous historical figures, Savannah claims a number of famous musicians and one celebrity chef in particular who is well known for her use of butter (Paula Deen of course!). Iconic musician Johnny Mercer and author Conrad Aiken are both buried in Savannah’s Bonaventure Cemetery and Girls Scouts’ founder Juliette Gordon Low is a native. Nearby in the quaint beach town of Tybee Island, actress Sandra Bullock and musician John Mellencamp also have homes.
