Transportation 101

From trolleys and pedicabs to horse drawn carriages, there is a transportation option at every turn in Savannah. You can even add a twist to your ride with fun options like a haunted hearse tour. When you are looking for a quick way to get you to your destination, taxis are best—call for a pick up versus trying to hail one on the street. The DOT shuttles offer complimentary transportation in downtown, while the fare-free CAT Shuttle can get you beyond the historic district anywhere in Chatham County. However, on a beautiful day when you’re not in a rush, we recommend an open-air carriage ride to take in Savannah’s sights and sounds.
