Over the years SAM has grown massively in size and acquired a collection of nearly 25,000 pieces. With a heavy focus on modern art and thanks to its close proximity to both the Asian Art Museum and the Olympic Sculpture Garden, SAM draws substantial crowds every year. Stop in and see at the Inopportune: Stage One, by artist Cai Guo-Qiang, an arrangement of life-size cars and tubes that simulates cars exploding.
