Railroad Square, a warehouse-district-turned-art-park, is often referred to as “Tallahassee’s Art District.” It is home to more than 50 cafés, art galleries, craft studios and boutiques as well as an alternative theatre company, the Mickee Faust Club. The theatre company was created as an antidote to that other Florida mouse that resides in Orlando. Several times a year, the Mickee Faust Club produces original works in their eponymous cabaret. The shows typically contain mostly original work including songs, satire, literary and cinematic parodies and “some fully-staged bad jokes thrown in for good measure.” Hours for the theatre as well as the other offerings at Railroad Square vary, but during the “First Friday Gallery Hop” held the first Friday of every month, you’ll find it thriving with activity.
