Neon, lava lamps and looping cult movies (Faster Pussycat, Kill Kill is a regular favorite) set the tone at Shelter Lounge, whether the night’s theme is 1980s, disco or audience requests. The walls are crammed with cheeky pop culture and political memorabilia from the ’50s and ’60s, including a light-up bust of JFK, wacky period advertisements and an impressive collection of black velvet paintings. Come for the martinis but stay for the pong, billiards and camaraderie.
