Make sure you take the opportunity to experience a true movie theater experience at one of the few remaining American “picture houses.” The Pelham Picture House first opened in 1921 and is now carefully maintained by a community-based, non-profit organization. This landmark building has been operating as a single-screen motion picture theater for more than 90 years and now shows new independent films and classic cinema are shown here. Film and education programs are also on offer and include classes on film literacy, film acting, screenwriting and directing as well as discussion forums on film analysis and criticism.
