Created in 1925 as an adjunct to the Bronx River Parkway, the pathway is part of Westchester’s 807-acre parkway and offers the perfect sampling of the serene and temperate surroundings. The Bronx River Parkway also has the special distinction of being the first one of its kind built in the nation. It consists of three paved segments varying in length that are ideal for peaceful riding and observing the beautiful natural vistas along the currently defunct, but historically rich former tracks of the New York Central Railroad.
